Social Q&A for Colleges

What is an "expert" account?

What is an “expert” account?

On July 1, we added a new account type to learnpipe called “Expert”. Experts are lecturers / customer service reps / sales / other staff that a college “approves” to respond on their behalf on learnpipe.

So the different profile types that exist now are:

users = ask the questions, follow colleges, follow courses, etc.

colleges = respond to questions, add courses, dates, special offers, etc.

experts = a specialised user account which is used to represent a college on learnpipe, answer questions, add comments, etc.

Colleges that are optimising their learnpipe profiles have added their staff as experts. There is a good reason for this…getting a response from the course lecturer is more personal than getting a response from College X. How cool is it to ask a question about a course and get a response from the guy who actually teaches it!

You can create an expert account by completing the following steps:

1. Acccess your college profile page:

2. click “Follow college” button on right side.

3. Create a user account / login with your User account.

If you are not logged in, you will see the below popup. Login with your user pwd & username (i.e. not your college login details). If you do not have a user account, you can quickly create one by clicking the “Create Customer Account” tab.

4. Choose “I work here!”, click “Follow  College” to finish.

Next - a notification email is sent to the college admin email with your request to become an expert. Once they approve, you’re done!

Once you are approved, you can reply to college questions, comments, etc. and you will be listed as an expert on the college profile.

Should take less than 1 minute to complete - looks complicated but its not!
